Tianjin FTZ establishes import markets
| Updated: 2015-07-15 21:06:19 | By Liu Yiyi (chinadaily.com.cn) |

Two shopping centers for imported products opened in Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone in Tianjin on July 4.

The stores bring new shopping options to Tianjin residents, with thousands of imported products at low prices.

"With such convenient and economic stores, I don't need to shop online for daily necessities," said Yan, a Tianjin resident.

Tianjin residents have more benefits since the launch of the Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ). Innovations in the FTZ, such as direct sales centers and bonded exhibitions, bring a variety of imported products.

The stores carried ten kinds of imported products, including beverages, frozen foods, daily supplies, baby products, and vegetables. The products are imported from more than ten countries including Italy, Germany, the US, Mexico, and Thailand.

Unlike previous import stores which mostly sold liquor, the new stores include more popular products like diapers, sanitary towels, and laundry detergent.

Thanks to the FTZ's preferential policies, there are fewer intermediate links in the direct sales centers. Therefore, the products in the stores are 30 to 50 percent cheaper than on the general market.
