The Eighth Tianjin Taiwan Investment Seminar and the Taiwan Product Expo closed on July 5. A total of 442 one-on-one purchase fairs contributed to purchase intentions totalling 2.95 billion yuan ($475.25 million). As many as 405,000 visitors participated in the seminars.
The Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone (Tianjin FTZ) became a hot issue among Taiwan businesses during the expo. The information session of the Tianjin FTZ was fully occupied. The Tianjin-Taiwan Agricultural Cooperation Seminar and the Tianjin-Taiwan Recreational Agricultural Tourism provided new driving force to tourism cooperation between Tianjin and Taiwan.
The Tianjin-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Seminar serves as a platform for young people from Tianjin and Taiwan to communicate. The seminar also introduced measures Tianjin will provide for Tianjin Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The Tianjin-Taiwan Medication Seminar enables medical businesses to share their experiences in cardiovascular, health examination, and medical cosmetology.
A total of 27 Taiwan businesses reached investment and cooperation intentions at the expo. The total investment value reached 7.39 billion yuan ($119.05 million), 15.5 percent more than last year. The investments and cooperation cover industries such as finance, business, and manufacturing. The financial industry remains the major cooperation area.
More than 40,000 products by up to 800 enterprises were exhibited at the exposition. Around 70 percent were first time exhibitors in Tianjin.
