Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei together enacted regional standards on electronic toll collection (ETC) and risk control on elderly care on June 1. These are the first united regional standards published by the three regions.

In order to implement the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional development strategy, Beijing's Municipal Government emphasized the establishment of the united ecological system, standards, monitoring, and law enforcement in its report on government work in 2015. Tianjin's and Hebei's governments also announced work on united standards.

The Standardization Administration of Beijing organized a three-way agreement on regional integrated development. The three sides agreed to cooperate in designing united standards to drive the integrated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Yao Ping, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision said that the united standard on ETC system is based on the promotion of the national network and its implementation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

In the past, the cross regional vehicle transportation was used to be interacted because of the bad compatibility. Based on the national standard, the new standard will improve the parameters in detail. The data interfaces are unified. And the technological indexes are also improved. Thanks to the united standard, the reliability of the ETC system is greatly improved. The transportation efficiency is also improved.

The untied standard on elderly care gives systematic and complete requirements to common risks. Each level of medical institutions in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region can follow the standard in elderly care.

Li Chunyan, director of the Beijing Nursing Association said that the complete regional management system will standardize elderly care and effectively control risks among elder citizens.

The three areas' next step will be to explore standards in environmental protection, industrial connections, and transportation.
