The 3rd Beijing Agricultural Carnival will take place March 14 to May 3, with sponsorship this year by the cities of Beijing and Tianjin and Hebei province, the organizers have announced, with help from the Tianjin agriculture committee and Hebei agriculture dept., in Beijing's Changping district
It has a theme of modern, global agriculture for regional integration and pavilions for boutique and innovative agriculture, parks for visitors to experience agricultural activities, a recreational strawberry picking belt and special pavilions for Tianjin and Hebei.
The innovative agriculture pavilion will focus on the agriculture of Taiwan, Hebei, and Tianjin, with grapes from Hebei, unique fruits and vegetables from Tianjin, and miniature landscapes.
The boutique pavilion will have thousands of premium agricultural products, with half of it international, with products from the United States, Russia, Turkey, South Korea, Malaysia, and half a dozen other countries, and an exhibition area 80 percent larger than last year's.
The domestic exhibits are up also, representing 24 provinces as opposed to last year's 18. They will also reflect the agricultural characteristics of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area.
The organizers have arranged for 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares)of strawberry greenhouses in local towns to provide sites for strawberry picking. There will be at least 550 agricultural product types and more than 120 creative agricultural sites for vegetables, fruits, flowers, bees, and silkworms.
There will also be a seminar on the integrated development of modern agriculture in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area.
