Five old ladies from Tianjin recorded more than 50 traditional Tianjin dialect folk and children's songs on Nov 27. It was undertaken as part of the Tianjin dialect documentation and preservation by Tianjin's Municipal Archives.

The archive launched events to select Tianjin dialect performers and Tianjin dialect text contents. The five old ladies were selected to be the performers, and they will record traditional rhymes, folk, children's songs, and proverbs based on the selected text contents.

After editing and arranging, the videos, audios, and photographs of the performances of Tianjin dialect will be preserved in the archive for future reference.
