National Animation Park seeks cooperation with African companies

A graduation ceremony for the African animation and television production workshop was held at the National Animation Industry Park in Tianjin, a port city located in North China, on Sept 16.

During the three-month workshop, trainees took professional courses, including non-paper animation, video post production, and TV program packaging. Trainees also took a tour of Tianjin’s TV and Radio stations, and other professional institutions.

In addition, the National Animation Training Center signed a cooperation agreement with the trainees’ employers in South Africa and Nigeria and sought further cooperation in outsourcing services, practical training, and professional research and development.

The agreement is advancing China and Africa’s mutual development and strengthens cooperation in animation, radio and television, and art design.

Considering the cultural construction in Africa, the Ministry of Culture of China is mainly putting its efforts into Africa’s capability building and human resources building.

The three-month workshop is seen as an important part of China-Africa cultural exchanges, which was a commitment from the fifth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Authorized by the Ministry of Culture of China, the workshop was held by Tianjin’s Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film, and TV.

Since 2013, many workshops have been held in China, including a Botswana embroidery workers training, African painters visits, Kung fu training – which was open to trainees from five countries in Africa, an African Museum Directors Forum, and African bamboo weaving workers training.
