Coca-Cola and the sixth East Asian Games organizing committee signed an agreement on July 12 to become one of the partners of the tournament.
"Tianjin is the focus of worldwide attention with its rapid development and unique commercial potential," said Han Chengping, general manager of Tianjin Coca-Cola Beverage. "Coca-Cola, as an international well-known enterprise, has been active in Tianjin investment and development. As one of the sponsors of the sixth East Asian Games, its company culture is also consistent with the games."
Coca-Cola has a great relationship with sporting events, dating back to the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928, when a freight ship arrived in the Dutch capital delivering both the US Olympic team and 1,000 cases of Coca-Cola. Now, it is spreading its passion to the Asian Games.
With the slogan "Share Happiness, Create Splendor", the sixth East Asian Games will be held between Oct 6 and 15 in China's Tianjin municipality.
