The InterAction Council is an international non-governmental organization consisting of former heads of state and government. It was started by Takeo Fukuda, the former Japanese Prime Minister and of the United Nations Development Program, in March, 1983, with the aim of increasing international co-operation in world peace and security, and improving the global economy and ethics.
The present chairman of the council is Schmidt, the former chancellor of West Germany. The honorary chair is Takeo Fukuda.
The 11th annual plenary meeting was held in May 1993, in Shanghai.
The Tianjin meeting will last for 3-4 days and have about 150 participants.
