The Tianjin Special Aircraft Production Base will be capable of producing 40 CH-3 unmanned aerial vehicles a year. The project started in September 2010.
The base has benefited from an investment of 424 million yuan ($67 million), and includes a production plant, office building and airstrip for the aerial vehicles.
Such vehicles play an important role in modern warfare and have vast potential to be used for civilian purposes, according to the base.
