TJTV World

Launched on Dec 28, 2008, TJTV World is Tianjin TV’s tenth channel. TJTV World broadcasts 24 hours a day with international coverage area of Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia. Its comprehensive programming enables overseas Chinese and others interested in China to keep up with events in Tianjin as they unfold. Making use of the vast media resources at Tianjin TV, the programs shown on TJTV World cover a wide range of the latest events and developments in Tianjin including economy, tourism, culture and entertainment.

The original programs broadcasted on TJTV World range from news, TV series to entertainment broadcasts and documentaries. TJTV World aims to act as a bridge between a rapidly developing Tianjin and the rest of the world, to act as a guide for overseas Chinese considering investment in their homeland, and to promote mutual understanding between the people of Tianjin and those from around the world.

The English language special news reports produced by TJTV World give insight into the country’s social and cultural developments while showcasing the lives, thoughts and stories of ordinary Chinese residents. These reports are broadcast by CNN and CCTV News, and have won high praise from global audiences. A news report produced by TJTV International with an environmental protection theme was honored by CNN as “Best Environmental Report” in 2005.
