Porcelain paintings, apparel and computer software created by students at vocational schools across China were sought after at a three-day exhibition and sales fair that ended in Tianjin on Sunday.
The national fair was designed to equip the students for the market by helping them turn their products into goods, as well as making their training more suitable for job market, said Vice-Minister of Education Lu Xin.
Vocational education has provided a steady supply of skilled workers to the country's manufacturing sector, Lu said. Half of the country's senior high school students, or nearly 2.2 million, were enrolled in vocational schools last year, according to the ministry's latest statistics.
