Overseas Chinese flock to Tianjin
Representatives from over 200 overseas Tianjin associations all over the world got together in Tianjin.

Delegates from America, Britain, France, Australia and Canada gave speeches following the theme of “family ties and pursuit of development”, calling all overseas Chinese to unite together and to cooperate closely and practically in supporting Tianjin. The Tianjin Declaration was issued to all participants.

They were given a warm welcome by Zhang Gaoli, secretary of the Tianjin Communist Party Commission, who urged all the overseas Chinese to care, promote and support the development of their homeland. He encouraged them to bring more assets, techniques, talented personnel and management experience into Tianjin.

About 300 thousand Chinese from Tianjin are currently working or studying overseas in 96 countries and regions. They have long been devoted to the economic and cultural development in Tianjin. There are more than 2000 enterprises registered by overseas Chinese, accounting for 40% of all foreign-funded enterprises in Tianjin.
