A dog from the Hedong District in Tianjin Municipality is creating a buzz with its environmentalist action: it collects empty drinking bottles every day, local media reported. The dog’s owner, a woman surnamed Chen, said the dog can collect about 10,000 bottles a year, which is worth 300 yuan, enough to cover the cost of feeding it.

Ms Chen began training the dog three years ago after noticing it showed a strong interest in drink bottles.

The dog has a knack for his work. “My dog will wait for an empty bottle when it sees someone drinking bottled water,” Chen said.
