China National Tourism Administration recently released the Tourists’ Security System (Draft) in its official website, which is now open for comments.
The draft points out that tourism administration departments at all levels should establish a tourism early warning system and inform visitors of emergencies situations with red, orange, yellow and blue warning signals.
Red signals will be used to recommend not traveling to the destination.
Orange signals propose visitors to reconsider traveling to destinations and cancel any unnecessary travel.
Yellow signals suggest visitors’ have a high concern over what has happened and will happen in the destination and blue reminds visitors to pay attention to what has happened and will happen at the destination.
The draft also stipulates the responsibilities and duties of the tourism departments, such as introducing tourism products to visitors, coordinating the relations between travel service agencies and visitors and handling sudden accidents that might happen to visitors.
The tourism administration departments at all levels are asked to discuss the draft, which can be downloaded from www.cnta.gov.cn, together with travel service agencies and tourism companies.
Any opinion or suggestion should be sent to fuwu@cnta.gov.cn in written form before and on 5 p.m., July 25.
