An online signing ceremony for 41 key projects was held through a video conference on March 5 in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province, in order to maintain economic growth amid the coronavirus outbreak.
With a total investment of 56.98 billion yuan ($8.2 billion), the 41 projects focus on new-generation information technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, healthcare, modern agriculture, the high-end chemical industry, textiles and clothing, modern logistics, cultural tourism and modern service industries.
Among them, three are valued over 5 billion yuan, nine are valued over 3 billion yuan and 19 are valued over 1 billion yuan. They are expected to help promote high-quality development and opening up in Tai'an, according to officials.
All participating enterprises praised the government for holding the video signing ceremony in light of the virus outbreak.
