Tai'an named first national tourism service demonstration city
Tai'an, Shandong province was rated as China's first national tourism service comprehensive standardization demonstration city after passing the acceptance testing of the Standardization Administration, which took place on Aug 3-4.
It is hoped that the awarding of the title to Tai'an can improve the city's tourism infrastructure to lure more tourists to come and visit its attractions, and to help the transformation and upgrading of the tourism industry, and enhance the comprehensive competitiveness of the tourism.
The acceptance testing covered six elements regarding tourism, including food, housing, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment. It consisted of the onsite assessments of Tai'an's scenic spots, including the tourist service center of Tai'an Fantawild Adventure and the cable cars on Mount Tai, as well as the materials provided by the Tai'an government and relevant companies.
Tai'an has been promoting its tourism with local features in recent years in order to win the coveted title, the first of its kind to be awarded in China. It means that other cities around China will now look towards Tai'an for guidance in the six tourism elements that were part of the acceptance testing.
