School children visit court
Over 200 primary school students visited the Liangyuan district people’s court in Shangqiu, Central China’s Henan province, on Feb 3.
The local education bureau and court co-hosted a mock court activity to remind students of the risk of setting off firecrackers during the winter holidays and the up-coming Spring Festival.
Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is China’s most important traditional festival, with a history of more than 4,000 years.
As it falls on Feb 16 this year, grand celebrations will take place all over the country -- from family reunions to New Year fireworks and temple fairs and performances to dumplings and feasts of local delicacies.
After the mock court activity, judges also held a Q&A session to help students learn more about laws and regulations.
