A nameplate unveiling ceremony for the first provincial government-university cooperative think tank demonstration base in Shanxi province – the Rural Revitalization Research Institute of Shanxi University (SXU) – was held at the university on Aug 12.

Ma Hua, executive dean of the institute, reported on the development of the base in terms of the research institute's goal positioning, organizational structure, team building, data platform, inter-school cooperation, school-enterprise cooperation, consulting services, and achievement transformation.

Sun Yan, vice president of Shanxi University, said that since the establishment in May, the institute has carried out in-depth cooperation in many fields, signed a series of cooperation projects with the Shanxi Rural Revitalization Bureau, and undertaken the formulation of standards for rural human settlement environment improvement in Shanxi.

The nameplate unveiling of the first think tank demonstration base listed in Shanxi's 12 bases for deepening provincial government-university cooperation is of great significance to Shanxi University and signifies that the university has entered a new stage of serving Shanxi's local society, transformation, and development.

Sun expressed hope that the institute would seize the opportunity and contribute the wisdom of Shanxi University to rural revitalization in the province.

Ma Weihong, deputy director of the Political Research Office of the CPC Shanxi Provincial Committee, fully affirmed the achievements of Shanxi University in social services, especially in think tank construction.

He expressed hope that the university would further utilize its strengths, make more significant achievements, and promote and commercialize more tech achievements.

The demonstration base will carry out activities such as decision-making consultations, planning and design, project cooperation, and subject research to provide strong intellectual support for the high-quality development of Shanxi.
