Introduction to Dong-A University

Dong-A University was founded in 1946 and is located in Busan, South Korea's second largest city. It is a four-year private comprehensive university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of South Korea.

The school has three campuses with a total enrollment of more than 23,761 students, including 21,578 undergraduates and 2,183 masters and doctors in 2014.

Overview of the program

Shanxi University and Dong-A University have signed a memorandum of understanding. Both can send exchange students to the other for one-semester or one academic year of study.

Application conditions, language, and tuition

1. Application conditions

(1) Love one's own motherland, study hard, and maintain good morals and progressive thinking

(2) Have excellent grades (undergraduates' grades should be ranked in the top 50 percent of their grades) and no record of bad behavior during school time.

(3) Undergraduates must remain students until the end of the program.

(4) Applicants with a foundation in Korean are preferred.

2. Tuition

Exchange students are exempt from tuition, but accommodation and living expenses are borne by the students. Exchange students from Shanxi University also need to purchase South Korean medical insurance ($60/month).

(1) Accommodation fee: double room (739,000-840,100 KRW)

(2) Food expenses: The cost of a university lunch is about 3,500-4,000 KRW.

(3) Public transportation: about 60,000 KRW per month
