Shanxi University Alumni Association

This Association was founded in August 2001 and was registered with the provincial civil affairs dept in May 2002 as the first alumni association with Shanxi provincial approval. It is overseen by the Membership Representatives Congress, with members selected for a 4-year term, and a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary general, deputy secretary general and directors.
The board of directors are the executives and in charge of daily operation when the congress is not in session. There is also a standing council, which exercises its function when the board of directors is not meeting.
The association helps continue the fine tradition and spirit of Shanxi University, strengthens relations among alumni in China and abroad, increases ties and cooperation between the university and alumni, and contributes to the university, the province and the country through science and education.
The association has many branches in Japan and across Chinese, in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin, in Fujian province, in Shenzhen and Zhuhai in Guangdong province, and Taiyuan, Datong, Xinzhou, Shuozhou, Yangquan, Lvliang, Jinzhong, Changzhi, Jincheng, Linfen, and Yuncheng in Shanxi province.
Its alumni are in provincial governmental depts, enterprises, universities and a wide range of industries, including finance and insurance. Planning is underway for branches in the cities of Wuhan and Hangzhou and in Canada for greater communications with its alumni.
