Eco-friendly water-based coatings produced by Shanxi Qisi Environmental Protection Technology Co [Photo/sxu.edu.cn]

Shanxi Qisi Environmental Protection Technology Co -- based in Shanxi University(SXU)'s science and technology park in North China's Shanxi province -- was recently listed on China's national New Over the Counter (OTC) Market for shares.

The company is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development, production and marketing of water-based coating materials. Its core technology mainly relies on professor Dong Chuan’s research team which engaged in eco-friendly pigment research from Shanxi University.

SXU officials said the research team has long been devoted to the development and application of new functional coating materials, including ecofriendly and degradable pigments and eco-friendly functional water-based coatings.

The innovations of the research team has obtained a number of independent intellectual property rights, including 178 national authorized patents. The team also won the second prize of the National Technology Invention Award, the Bronze Award of iENA Nuremberg in Germany and the Gold Award of International Federation of Inventors' Associations.

At present, its 40 intellectual property rights for research achievements have been transferred to eight companies in Suzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai cities, Zhejiang, Hunan and Shanxi provinces -- of which 12 patents have been transferred to Shanxi Qisi Environmental Protection Technology Co.
