Shang Xiaoming

Shang Xiaoming, who is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at Peking University, was born in Shilou in Shanxi province in 1968.
From 1986-1989, Shang studied History at Shanxi University and obtained a bachelor’s degree.
From 1989-1991, Shang worked as a teacher at the First Middle School in Shilou.
From 1991-1997, Shang studied for a master’s degree and a doctorate in History at Peking University.
From 1997-1999, Shang conducted post-doctoral research at Peking University.
Since 1999, Shang has been working in the History Department of Peking University.
Shang’s studies range from the history of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), to modern Chinese history, academic history, social history to political history and educational history.
