The 2016 China Postgraduate Media Joint Conference was held at Shanxi University on Oct 13, aimed at furthering discussions on how to boost postgraduate education by using media and Internet Plus.

Representatives and officials from the province’s educational divisions and leaders from Shanxi University attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches detailing how using media and Internet Plus can benefit postgraduates.

Postgraduates from some of the country’s most prestigious universities, such as Wuhan University, Shanghai University, China University of Mining, Southwest University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, also gathered for the day-long discussions.

Zhong Aimin, deputy director of the editorial department of the Ministry of Education Degree and Graduate Education Development Center, delivered a key note speech at the conference. He praised the accomplishments made by postgraduate organizations in media explorations and encouraged them to focus their endeavors on content development, technological applications, operational modes and development strategies.

China Postgraduate Media Joint Conference, based in Beijing, takes places once a year. It was founded as a platform to promote the overall strength of media interactions and collaborations among China’s postgraduate institutions.

It has played a critical role in continuous improvement of postgraduates’ abilities and qualities as well as the postgraduate education cause.

Up to now, twelve sessions have been held in China’s major institutions and universities including the Ministry of Education Degree and Graduate Education Development Center, Chongqing University, Zhejiang University, Xiamen University and Harbin Institute of Technology under varied themes, since 2005.
