Shanxi University held a symposium on April 5 to explore ways to internationalize its higher education departments.

Attendees of the meeting discussed the general requirements of internationalization and how to organize leadership structures.

The university's president, Jia Suotong, stressed at the symposium that the opening-up of China's education system reflects Chinese President Xi Jinping's vision of advancing the country's development on all fronts. He also said that the policy represents an opportunity to develop the university and increase its professional reputation.

Also speaking at the symposium was Shanxi University's vice president, Gao Ce. He said that the faculty should strengthen and improve its concept of development, management structure, academic quality and education investment. He added that the university should internationalize both its software and hardware structures.
