Shanxi University, Bank of China ink strategic agreement

The Dongshan campus project of Shanxi University got a boost as the university signed a cooperative strategic agreement with the Bank of China's Shanxi Branch (BOC's Shanxi Branch) on Jan 6.

Jia Suotang (R), president of Shanxi University signed the cooperative strategic agreement with Liu Xuwei (L), president of BOC’s Shanxi Branch, on Jan 6.

Jia Suotang, president of the university and Liu Xuwei, president of the BOC branch on behalf of the two sides signed the cooperative strategic agreement.

The principles, the contents and the mechanism of the strategic cooperation are all covered in the agreement. The bank will support the university in every field with its huge capital scale. It will provide a long-term loan support for the university's construction project on the new Dongshan campus to continue the progress.

Both sides also exchanged in-depth opinions on bilateral cooperation for achieving mutual benefits during the signing ceremony.

During the ceremony, President Jia focused his speech on the construction project of the new campus. He noted that the agreement would play a facilitating role on the university’s development, especially the current new campus project. With the strategic agreement as a new start point, it hopes to establish good communication mechanisms with the BOC in the future.

Representatives of Shanxi University and BOC's Shanxi Branch exchanges in-depth opinions on the future cooperation on Jan 6.

President Liu said in his speech that BOC's development cannot materialize without the support of social power, and the university owns a good social reputation as well as long history. The cooperation of BOC this time with the university is not only a response to government's call to assume social responsibilities, but also pursuing its future development. He hopes that the BOC can work closely with the varsity on the two sides’ scientific and leaping development.

The BOC is the first bank for the university to seek comprehensive cooperation on its Dongshan campus, and the bank has signed a commitment letter for 1.5 billion yuan loan. After the ceremony, President Liu and other representatives of the branch visited the university’s history museum and Institute of Opto-Electronics.
