A school cannot develop without the leadership of its dean, says Yang Jun, deputy president of Shanxi University at the university’s first deans’ forum on Nov 6.

Deans from the university’s schools of education science, economics and management, mathematical sciences and computer and information technology were present for the forum.

Deputy President Yang Jun urged the deans to improve academic ability while restraining their own behaviors. The deans should build faith and cohesion through advanced education, and lead the school with clear direction.

The forum explored into topics around disciplines construction, talents cultivation, school management and development with speeches by the four deans.

The forum followed the trend of university management reform and expands the independence of schools.

The first deans forum of Shanxi University is held in the university on Nov 6.
