Shanxi University Wins First Prize in Bridge Championship

The 2015 National University Bridge Championships, hosted by Federation of University Sports of China with help from Bridge branch of the federation, was opened on July 22, in Hubei Engineering University. 92 teams (55 men’s and 37 women’s) with over 600 players from 58 colleges were participated in the 5-day-long competition, which has five parts including pair tournament and mixed pair tournament.

Two players from Shanxi University named Li Xiao, a postgraduate from School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Wang Weihan, a undergraduate from School of Philosophy and Sociology won the first prize, as one of the three pairs of players from Shanxi University who entered the finals of mixed pair tournament, after competing with 156 pairs of rivals. At the same time, Tai Zhiqin and Wang Yangming, both from School of Mathematical Sciences of Shanxi University, finished eighth.
