To support the construction of the Confucius Institute, the international promotion of Chinese language and the global spread of Chinese culture, and to also nurture qualified Chinese teachers and other talented people who are proficient in Chinese, the Confucius Institute headquarters/ the Office of Chinese Language Council International (hereinafter referred to as the OCLCI), set up the Confucius Institute Scholarship to help finance foreign students, scholars and Chinese teachers taking their master's degree in Chinese International Education, or to study Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese History and Chinese Philosophy in relevant colleges and universities across China.
