A symposium focusing on cultural creative industries cooperation between Pingyao county and Palace Museum was held at Gianfu Palace in Beijing on Sept 22.
The Palace Museum has developed 10,000 different types of high quality and intricately designed cultural creative products by the end of 2016 based on its rich cultural resources. The effort has created great economic returns and brought great social benefits.
In view of Palace Museum's experience and advantages in developing cultural creative products, Pingyao will build a brand named "Pingyao gift" with the cultural services center of the Palace Museum to help boost local creative culture and tourism industries.
The two sides now cooperate in design, creation, selling of cultural creative products and will expand further partnerships in tourism promotion, cultural interaction and other fields to develop "Pingyao gift" into not just a provincial brand but a national brand.
"Both the Palace Museum and the ancient city of Pingyao are UNESCO World Heritage Sites and we should learn from each other and boost traditional Chinese culture," said Shan Jixiang, curator of the Palace Museum.
Jinzhong city which administrates Pingyao county will help advance the collaboration between Pingyao and Palace Museum by enacting a series of preferential measures, such as allotting special funds, providing shops and government procurement.
