Pingyao's painting academy lauded as national arts base

Baishi Painting Academy in Pingyao county was selected as one of the first national recommendation bases for arts professionals in Shanxi on July 2.

Founded in 2012, the academy has attracted more than 100 members. Various academic events have been organized among different schools of art since its establishment, helping advance development of painting and calligraphy in Pingyao.

A group of some 30 artists led by Bai Yuntao, an official of the Ministry Of Culture, visited the painting academy, unveiling the nameplate of the national arts base for the academy. Bai expressed his hopes that the academy will be developed into a comprehensive service platform for professional arts training and communication.
