To make sure that tourists have a good experience traveling around Pingyao county or Shanxi province in the off season, the county is providing more discount tickets at some tourist sites, especially for visitors from nearby cities, such as Jinzhong, Linfen, Lvliang, and Yangquan.

And, thanks to a successful marketing campaign and some special offers for this World Heritage site, the county saw another tourism peak just this past December and the beginning of the New Year. The old county maintained its lively atmosphere this winter. One of the most successful events has been the experiential play, Old Pingyao Once More, which kept tourists entertained each show.
