A group of experts in the city's cultural and tourism related industries joined the discussion, together with Peking University experts, at the city's Heyang Gallery, to evaluate the Cultural Development Plan for Datong, which the city invited the institute to design for it earlier this year.
The scholars from the institute made a thorough research into the cultural resources and industries in the city, then carried out a comparative analysis of the city's cultural industry status quo with that of other nearby cities, and based on the above study, they located the regional advantages of the city over others and pointed out suitable economic industry adjustments.
The Plan that developed as a result of the research and analysis, covers the integration of cultural elements with tourism, industry, modern agriculture, health and the pension industry. In addition, it comes up with a set of systematic steps to construct an industry chain of the arts and crafts industry, broadcast, film and television industry, the performing arts and entertainment industry, the publishing industry, and the festival exhibition industry.
