North China's Shanxi province will exhibit newly made dramas, starting in the middle of September, at Taiyuan, capital of the province. A group of highly acclaimed dramas, including Jin drama, musicals, and sketch comedies will be put on show in the Shanxi Performing Arts Center, Taiyuan Youth Arts Center and Xingguang Theatre.

The cultural event is organized by Shanxi's Publicity Department and Shanxi's Culture Bureau, and special tickets at a lower price – less than 30 yuan ($5) – are available for each performance. The event is designed to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, presenting a large number of cultural products with a variety of themes, corresponding to the national strategy of cultural branding. A total of 31 performances will thoroughly show the stage arts achievements of the province since 2013. The majority of the dramas are themed on "Chinese Dreams".

In addition, symposiums engaging cultural experts, a common audience, cultural business operators and performing artists in the drama will be held, to promote the effective and targeted interactions and exchange between artists and their audiences, improve the quality of art works, and meet the market demands of cultural products. The government is striving for both social and economic benefits in its cultural industry.
