A photography exhibition center will open to the public on Sept 5 in Datong, North China's Shanxi province. The center will include many booths dividing the photographic works into different themes.
The exhibition will last for a week, exhibiting 800 works. One section is dedicated to previous award-winning works from the first to eighth China Photography Award, the highest and most influential national award in photography circle, with much recognition. Another section covers works from rural photographers in China.
The establishment of the center heralds a long-term cooperation between the city and the China Photographers Association. Datong will be the host city of some national and international photography contests or exhibitions. This provides a good opportunity for the city to do image-branding.
The association evaluated the city from such aspects as cultural establishment, city appearance, environment and civil service before choosing it as a partner.
