Transportation on the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway was halted on June 8 for 120 minutes for an overhaul, including renovations at some sections and clean-ups in some tunnels. Stretching from Datong, Shanxi province, in the west to Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, in the east, the rail line is an important heavy-haul train route for transporting coal in West China to East China.
