As the older part of the city of Datong, Shanxi province gradually improves its cultural heritage a cultural travel route has gradually taken shape, which in turn improves the atmosphere of the city, its tourism projects, and even its culture.
In recent years, its culture market has developed, for example the Guangling Paper-cut Museum, which had 12,800 tourists from China and abroad for the May Day holiday, May 1-3, setting a record for the museum.
In spite of all this, and the newly prosperous culture market, the city still faces challenges from its laggardly old management mode which is in bad need of a reworking for the healthier development of the cultural tourism.
Datong has just a few antique malls, not as many as other cities, such as Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, with a large number of antique dealing and enjoying places to attract tourists from around the country.
The people who manage Datong's antiques business have expressed relevant desire for more cultural exhibitions and for better cultural expos and markets, and greater exposure for development.
