The companies from the city of Datong, Shanxi Province, concluded agreements for three cultural construction projects on Nov. 7 at the 8th China Beijing International Culture and Creativity Industry Exposition (ICCIE) in Beijing. Under their agreements, the city will build a music culture park, a jade culture museum and a campground music festival, according to Datong municipal culture bureau.
The first project is a joint venture between Datong’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) and the Ideal City (Beijing) Investment Co. It is to transform an industrial gasworks site into a music culture creative industry park. The Ideal City plans to start construction on the first phase of the project in 2014 and to complete it in 2015, with a total investment of 1 billion yuan ($164.14 million). When it starts operation, the new cultural park is expected to provide jobs for 10,000 to 20,000 people.
The second project involves the Datong Jianshu Steel Co and the Jilin Tianyiyuan Petroleum Engineering and Technical Services Co. They will put in a total of 150 million yuan to build a jade culture museum to help Datong develop its jade culture industry.
The third project as agreed between the Shanxi Yingxuan Culture Communications Co and the Beijing Zijingfang Culture Co requires a spending of 10 million yuan to establish a campground music festival for Datong to create a new culture brand and expand its cultural influence.
