China's Top 500 Private Companies List for 2013, which was published on Oct 28, has eight private Shanxi companies on it, mainly in the coke and steel business.
The list, compiled by the Chinese Private Enterprise Association, Chinese Statistics Association, and the China Academy of Management Science's Enterprise Research Center, reported total revenues of China's Top 500 private enterprises at 10.5 trillion yuan ($1.72trrllion), for a year-on-year increase of 12.88 percent. The top three slots were occupied by the Suning Appliance Co, with revenues of 232.72 billion yuan, Lenovo Holdings, at 226.65 billion yuan, and Huawei Investment Holdings with 220.2 billion.
Out of the eight Shanxi list joiners, the Haixin Iron & Steel Group, Shanxi Antai Holding Group, and Shanxi Liheng Iron & Steel Corp were the top three, even though their revenues do not reach the average level of the Top 500, which is around 20.99 billion yuan.
