The city of Datong, Shanxi province got a visit by a delegation from the city of Erdos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Sept 7 – 8, led by Yun Guangzhong, its Party secretary, to look at Datong's cultural tourism, urban and rural housing, ecological development, and equipment manufacturing.
The two cities signed a friendship and cooperation agreement the last day of the visit, to increase cooperation in coal processing, equipment manufacturing, high-tech industries and modern industrial systems, with Erdos providing examples on how to accelerate development and restructuring in the coal industry.
Feng Lixiang, Datong's Party secretary, explained that his city has a long history and is a major coal producer and that its government has been pushing tourism by building more scenic spots and infrastructure and becoming a new green energy city.
The Erdos delegation also visit some scenic spots, such as East City Wall, Yungang Grottoes, Wenying Lake ecological park, and Huayan Temple, to better understand Datong's success at protecting its historical and relics, and improving cultural tourism. They also got a closer look at some reconstruction projects in the city and exchanged ideas on their respective equipment and manufacturing industries.
