At a Shanxi province publicity conference, on Jan 18, the city of Datong, Shanxi was awarded the “Advanced cultural reform city” title, the Datong Daily reported on Wednesday.

The same conference saw institutions, organizations, and individuals getting awards for their own work in the field of culture, including the Datong Daily Media Group, Datong Theater, the municipal library, Datong architectural relics repository, Madaotou county culture station, and the municipal law cultural product enforcement team, all of whom claimed the “Advanced unit” title.

It’s worth noting that the city’s publicity department got an award for excellence in organization – for the eighth consecutive year. Meanwhile, the movie Home Outside the Great Wall and six other cultural works got excellent work awards.
