Datong is planning on building Shanxi province’s first national famous brands demonstration site for Buddhism culture and grotto arts for the tourism industry, in accordance with Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau rules, and with China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine approval.
The site that got approval for the demonstration area is the popular tourist spot, the Yungang Grottoes scenic area. The demonstration site is expected to increase the influence of the grottoes, promote grotto culture, and help develop Datong’s cultural tourism industry.
The famous brands demonstration area is part of the nation’s 12th Five-year Plan (2011-16), and is designed to promote independent brand development and increase brand values and their reach. It could be significant also for structure adjustments and transforming development methods in the region, and good for its economy.
