A photography exhibition named "Changing Datong" is under preparation and scheduled to open from August 12 to the end of this month.
The exhibition hopes to "record the work and happiness of progress and display the changes of the city". The event is sponsored by the district committee, district government and Datong Photographer Association and co-sponsored by the Datong Daily and Datong TV station.
The organizers of the exhibition selected 470 photos and put them into 200 groups according to themes such as: preservation projects of ancient buildings, changes of streets and alleys, episodes of residents' lives, social events and community cultural performances.
Among these pictures, one group displayed the state of 70 old alleys while another consists of 40 photos reflecting the evolution of backward toilets in old streets.
The exhibition attempts to mirror every tiny bit of change in Datong, helping visitors understand the sweet bitterness of the city's development.
