The city’s education bureau and education TV station recently jointly hosted a Spring Festival gala for thousands of teachers and students, the first of its kind in the city.

The programs were performed by teachers and students at local kindergartens, art schools and middle schools and deeply touched the audience.

Wang Weiguo, the city’s vice-mayor, said the local government should pay more attention to education since it plays an essential role in social development. Educational resources, especially trainings for teachers, should be further improved and strengthened to achieve greater progress.
