The Datong government has recently approved 73 buildings as cultural heritage, and has put them under closed protection.

The newly-added sites include three ancient tombs, 19 historic sites and 33 old buildings.

To date, Datong has nearly 100 city-level protected cultural relics which are of great historical and artistic value linking Datong to its glorious past.

Officials will take actions within a year to ensure the protection of the new relics.
