Workers put raw materials into a cauldron in a brewery in Yuanqu county, Shanxi province, Jan 14. The raw materials of Yuanqu county's calamus wine include altai anemone root (Irkutsk anemone rhizome), Chinese sorghum and pea. The local liquor-making companies still use traditional brewing techniques such as fermentation in vat, frozen soaking and storage in cellar and purchase raw materials from local farmers and planting bases which provide a boost to famers' income.
