At the southwestern foot of West Sheshan and on the former site of Xuanmiao Temple, there are a few buildings. Here lies Sheshan Monastery – a cradle of Catholic priests in China.
Located at No. 506, Huanshan Road at the southern foot of West Sheshan, the Camp was established in July 1983.
About 20m northeast of Huzhu Pagoda, there is an ancient ginkgo more than 700 years old. It is the oldest tree in the nine peaks and 12 mountains.
Lu Ji and Lu Yun's Humble Cottage is a compound consisting of two buildings symmetric on the south and north elevations, a gatehouse made of carved bricks and a courtyard.
Xiaokun Mountain is located in the northwest of Songjiang. It is 55m high and covers 500 acres of land. It is at the southernmost tip of the nine peaks.
In the 1990s, tourists found an inscription on a cliff near Lu Ji and Lu Yun’s Reading Platform. The characters are simple and strong.
In October 210 BC, the First Emperor of Qin made his fifth southern tour in the company of Prime Minister Li Si and Prince Hu Hai.
The museum is inside Sheshan Observatory Workstation of West Sheshan. Its predecessor is Sheshan Observatory in a European architectural style built by the French Society of Jesus in 1900. The "Far East's First" 40cm binocular refracting optical telescope was installed on the mountain top.
After Xia Yunyi and his son Xia Wanchun, two heroes resisting the Qing Dynasty in the late Ming Dynasty, were sacrificed, they were buried at Dangwan village, 1.5km north of Xiaokunshan. Now it is a heritage site under the protection of Shanghai.
Located in Sheshan Seismic Station at the foot of West Sheshan, Shanghai Earthquake Museum was jointly established by the Earthquake Administration of Shanghai Municipality and Sheshan Seismic Station in 2000.
