Eighty-two cultural and tourism attractions in Shanghai, including scenic spots, museums, art galleries, and cruises, will halve the price of admission tickets during the annual Shanghai Tourism Festival from Sep 17 to Oct 6, the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism announced on Wednesday.
Among those that will offer discounted tickets are National 5A-level tourist attractions such as the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum and the Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Other venues involved include the Shanghai Wild Animal Park, the Zhujiajiao ancient town, Shanghai Happy Valley, the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, Guyi Garden, Jinshanzui Fishing Village, and the Zhoupu Flower Sea scenic area.
The Shanghai Disney Resort said that it will be offering special tickets priced between 149 yuan ($23.15) and 224 yuan for entry after 3 pm during the festival period.
The Readable Architecture event, which enables people to learn the stories behind thousands of historical buildings and protected areas in Shanghai through a QR code, will also be held during the festival period. More than 40 hosts from Shanghai Media Group will visit around 150 featured architectures to promote the readable architecture project through livestreaming.
A shuttle bus which will pass by 30 landmarks on a 22-kilometer trip, the official WeChat App of Readable Architecture, and a list of top 10 recommended routes of Readable Architecture will be launched during the tourism festival.
