After nine months of qualifying rounds from 178 countries and regions, 55 world beauties stood out from their counterparts coming to Shanghai for the international final.

Under a theme of "smiling faces in charming Shanghai", 2016 marked the sixth anniversary of the competition being held in China.

Chile's Sofia Saavedra Valderrama wins the laurel of MTQTY 2016.

During a 22-day visit, international beauties attended tourism promotional activities and charity events to cast their charm and love to the corners of China.

The top 5 main titles were claimed by India, Australia, Romania, China and Chile, with Chile's Sofia Saavedra Valderrama wining the laurel of MTQTY 2016, followed by China's Wang Meng.

The Best in National Costume Award at MTQTY 2016 is shared by Thu Thao Hoang (Vietnam), Putri Amelia (Indonesia) & Gabriela Oliveira (Brazil).

Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International is an international event that honors women who uphold beauty, poise and good moral character. The pageant was formerly called Miss Queen of the Year International. The first Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International was crowned in 1993.
