A greenhouse orchid exhibition will be staged at Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden from Mar 28 to April 12, adding a new location for people's spring outing.
The botanic garden has invited gardeners from the Hainan province, Taiwan and Thailand to design the exhibition, which covers a total area of about 700 sq m in the garden’s 12,000 sq m green house.
In the Hall A of the garden's greenhouse, a wide range of varieties of orchids are scattered among tropical plants, forming a spectacular picture. While in the Hall C of the greenhouse, designers created orchid landscapes themed with sheep, as 2015 is the Year of Sheep.
In 2013 and 2014, the botanic garden held the Shanghai International Orchid Show, which displayed about 1,000 orchid species including some of world’s rarest, from more than a dozen of counties and regions such as the United States, France, Spain and Thailand.
