The second Shanghai International Orchid Show ended on April 20 in Chenshan Botanical Garden, attracting many visitors to come while they still had the chance.

Earlier, during the Qingming holiday from April 5 to 7, the Show attracted nearly 90,000 visitors, more than double the numbers witnessed last year.

The temporarily "E" museum is a favorite spot for the public to take pictures. It displayed award-winning miniature landscape projects, including the large scale gold prize winner with his "Garden landscape" and also the small scale gold prize winner.

The "Magic forest" project was designed by a landscape architect from Peru. It focused on building different layers and the designer also created a mushroom-shaped miniature house made of plastic foam.

The "Garden landscape" project was from a Thai designer. The designer deliberately built three artificial fountain landscapes in the center which achieved a harmonious combination of natural and artificial landscapes.

In addition to orchids, many other species have now entered their flowering phase in the garden and are attracting tourists.

Themed as "The Orchid of Dream, the Choice of Taste", the show invited 17 professional teams from 17 countries or regions such as the UK, Italy, Thailand, Spain, North Africa, Indonesia, Uganda, Kenya, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan, who brought with them over 70,000 orchids of more than 1200 different types. Apart from the grand visual feast, visitors to the show could also enjoy fine food and convenient transportation, especially provided by the garden.

Through this show, the organizers are looking forward to promoting intercultural communication and research and sustainable utilization of orchids.
